Our Voices Are Powerful

The Rentsafe project effectively uses video to share qualitative data from the Community Voices/Tenants Advisory Group. Community Voices are people with experience of living with low resources who have graduated from the Bridges out of Poverty – Getting Ahead program. These community advocates speak out on how people on low income contribute to the community, identify barriers, inequities and solutions; and make policy recommendations to the Bruce Grey Poverty Task Force, social service agencies and the municipal, provincial and federal governments.

Members participated in Rentsafe’s Tenants Advisory Groups with partners across Ontario to look at solutions to address community issues. They generated these videos in partnership with the Canadian Partnership for Children’s Health and Environment of Queen’s University.
